The University of Göttingen is currently testing a proven model that measures performance of
Information Technology (IT) and Information System (IS). We are currently looking for partner companies
willing to complete this investigation, and in return they would receive accurate feedback on how
well their IT/IS system is running, and which areas should be improved. As well, they will be benchmarked
to other companies that are studied by us.
When companies decide measure their IT Performance, they regularly end up dissatisfied with the traditional KPIs metrics.
These KPI metrics fail to explain the benefits that IT provides to the business, are too technical and show how the IT
service has been rather than how it should be.
Additionally, traditional KPIs have the following shortcomings:
- Focus on IT as a support rather than IT as an enabler
- Do not understand users, their needs and priorities
- They show the "as is" picture rather than the "should be" picture of IT
- Are difficult to collect and analyze
Due to these shortcomings, the University of Göttingen has decided to test other IT/IS performance tools,
which have been proven both in theory and in practice.
